COMMON PROBLEMS WITH MUSCULAR SYSTEM

Mostly, people refer to the strength of the body muscles as the strength of lifting heavy objects and performing hard tasks but muscles do more than that. There are around 650 muscles in a human body in arms, shoulders, spine, chest, belly and legs which make the entire body to work properly. If you can eat normally, it means your mouth muscles are working properly or if you can walk straight, it means your balancing muscles are doing great. There are many diseases that could make the muscles disable which can cause number of disabilities including dysfunctions in eating, walking, speaking and listening.

Here is the list of some common problems with muscular system:

  1. Muscular dystrophy:
    This is a genetic disorder which disturbs the fibers in muscles usually in arms and legs. This disease can occur to anyone at any age in during their life and the worst thing about this disease is that it’s incurable which means if a person is suffering from this disease, he can’t overcome the symptoms. Researchers are currently working on many medications to cure this disease but up until now, there is no remarkable progress. There were few cases when this disability was treated on early stages and it went very well but other than that, there are no treatments available. Common symptoms include weakness in the organs, not being able to move freely and having constant pain in the muscles.
  2. Cerebral palsy:
    This is one of the most serious illnesses related to congenital disorders. The deal with this disease is that it affects the child before he is born and during that time, this disease cause underdevelopment of the brain due to which, that child can’t perform the usual activities as a normal human being. The patient that is having this disability can’t do any hard work or exercise. Even the usual household tasks are difficult for these patients including moving any furniture or carrying a slightly heavier object.
  3. Myasthenia gravis:
    It includes number of disabilities including having problems to more around, carry objects and even eating food. This disease is caused when there is a problem with the immune system and it can’t resist to the illness attacks. In this illness, the brain is not provided with enough energy and as a result, it’s underdeveloped which later, results in not being able to operate the body parts as normal people. A person, who is suffering from this disease can’t do any hard work or exercise and most of time, he feels dizziness or experience fatigue even after doing common chores.
  4. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis:
    It is also referred to as ALS and Lou Gehrig’s disease. It is a muscular and nerve damaging disease which mainly affects the working of the nerves in muscles and brain cells. Among all the other disability, this one is the most severe that can put a person’s life in danger as the patients can’t perform the regular tasks including eating and drinking. The damage to the nerves in the brain makes it impossible for the body parts to operate in a proper way and the patient can’t move properly. Later in the life, the affected person can experience paralysis and mental damage which can also cause sudden death.
