NVIDIA GeForce Kepler Release is Between March – April 2012
Nvidia’s Plan for its Launch of Kepler GPUs

The current rumor is that NVIDIA will not do paper launch with Kepler but instead they were planning to do a hard launch with GeForce based products available on launch day. NVIDIA plans to avoid doing a situation similar to their competitor AMD, when they launched the Radeon HD 7970 on December 22nd, 2011 with no retail availability until January 9th i.e. nearly 2 weeks later.
What’s the reason behind the delay of Kepler launch?
The question that remains now is, the strategy for the launch of NVIDIA’s own new generation GPUs for desktop systems, known by the code name, Kepler? Nvidia learnt its lesson when it had launched its architecture code-named Fermi about half a year ahead of the actual release. So Nvidia would like to ensure instant availability of next-generation graphics cards after the formal launch. The company is now planning to schedule the launch of Kepler on March or April 2012, after making sure of the availability of enough stocks in hand.
Nvidia at CES 2012
Nvidia has not revealed any details about its new graphics cards at the Consumer Electronics Show last week and even did not made any comments regarding Kepler. But, the company focused fully on demonstrating products running with Nvidia Tegra 3 System-on-Chips, including tablets. The logical consequence is that NVIDIA wanted to adopt a low profile on these solutions at least until they are officially announced or marketed.
Nvidia Kepler is scheduled between March – April 2012
It is already mentioned that Intel’s next generation processor Ivy Bridge will hit the market by first half of April 2012. So we can expect Nvidia Kepler on more or less same day. So Kepler will be ready, when you are prepared for your new rig with Ivy Bridge.
