NVIDIA GeForce Kepler GK-110 Chip Pictured
A user on a Chinese Web forum has posted a picture of GK110 GPU, the graphics core that Nvidia has planned to use in its upcoming GeForce GTX 680 video card. The picture was deliberately modified to remove its markings, but we can still make out the fact that this is actually an A2 revision GPU. It is also claimed that GK110 GPU, will be fabricated using TSMC’s 28nm process.
Performance of Nvidia GK110
Comparing to GF110 and AMD Tahiti XT, GK110 is expected to be much better in terms of
- Power consumption
- Thermal characteristics
- Overclocking performance
Nvidia GK110 Vs AMD Radeon HD 7970
The clock speeds of GK110 will be faster than GeForce GTX 580 and like AMD Radeon HD 7970; GK110 is also expected to have high overclocking performance. The biggest mystery surrounding Kepler right now is when will Nvidia actually release these GPUs.
